Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA)’s Youth Council has launched the second ‘Shababuna Fakhruna’ (Our Youth, Our Pride) initiative, as part of DEWA’s efforts to recognise and honour young employees. The initiative sheds light on employees with major achievements during the COVID-19 pandemic, whether these achievements are related to main or voluntary work at DEWA or elsewhere. The initiative had two approaches for the nomination: the first allowed employees to nominate themselves while the second enabled employees to nominate a colleague.
HE Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, MD & CEO of DEWA, praised the constructive role of youth employees for being fully responsible during the COVID-19 pandemic, which required collaboration between all society members to accelerate recovery and going back to normal. Al Tayer referred to their passion to participate in the development process and contribute to the growth journey.
“DEWA provides a positive and a happy work environment that inspires creativity, innovation, skills and knowledge development. It attaches great importance to its youth employees and helps them explore new opportunities in addition to strengthening their skills to become global role models. DEWA’s Youth Council contributes effectively to our strategy to invest in the potential, time and skills of youth as well as enhance their loyalty. It also helps DEWA expand youth contributions to different tracks of development to remain key supporters of our excellence journey,” said Al Tayer.
“We are proud of the number of applications we received to participate in the ‘Our Youth, Our Pride’ initiative. The applications included significant achievements and success that deserve all appreciation and recognition. This large turnout reflects the sense of patriotism among DEWA’s youth employees, their belonging, solidarity and teamwork,” said Aysha Mohammad Alremeithi, DEWA’s Youth Council President.
