Dubai Municipality wins Diamond Harvard Business Council International Award 2021

Dubai Municipality announced that it has won the Diamond Category Project Award from the Harvard Business Council International Awards 2021.

A prestigious international award that recognises accomplishments in total quality management, the Award evaluates the excellence, adoption of best practices and high quality services and products of organisations across sectors.

The Municipality won the prestigious award for using Artificial Intelligence (AI) in its implementation of the second phase of the Sewage Treatment Plant Project in Jebel Ali. The vital project is a key pillar of the emirate’s waste treatment infrastructure.

The Award reflects Dubai Municipality’s international standards of competitiveness and validates its strategic objectives of becoming an innovative and world-leading municipality, instilling a culture of leadership and corporate governance and boosting the city’s sustainability by implementing pioneering sustainability practices.

The Sewage Treatment Plant Project in Jebel Ali plays a major role in the daily treatment of sewage water in Dubai, with a water treating capacity of 670,000 cubic metres. Water produced by the Plant can be reused for various other operations, Dubai Municipality said.

The Project, which will meet the sewage treatment needs of the emirate for the next 20 years, also contributes to environmental protection, public health and safety.
