On the occasion of Eid al-Adha, the Ministry of Community Development launched a nationwide initiative for Senior Emiratis called “You are our Eid Joy” which included the distribution of Eid gifts to senior emiratis at the senior emiratis happiness centers in Dubai, Sharjah and Ajman in collabortion with Abu Dhabi Islamic Bank. The initiative also included interactive e-screens at these centers to promote communication with senior emiratis remotely and exchange greetings among family and relatives on the occasion of these blessed days.
The initiative was launched at the senior emiratis center in Ajman, affiliated with the Ministry of Community Development, Dubai Senior Emiratis Center at Dubai Health Authority, and Old People Home at Sharjah Social Services Department in the presence of representatives of the Ministry, Abu Dhabi Islamic Bank and senior emiratis.
On this occasion, Alia Al Joker, Director of Family Development Department at the Ministry of Community Development stated that the initiative reflects the UAE's wise leadership welfare for senior emiratis as they are the cornerstone of building the nation; it is the duty of each member of the community to give them back what they did for all of us by offering them various ideas, attitudes and initiatives. The initiative “You are our Eid Joy” comes as part of the support, welfare given by the UAE Government and the Ministry of Community Development to senior emiratis; as well as all efforts to improve their wellbeing and ensure their active and continuous participation within the community; this is included in the national policy of senior emiratis based on seven pillars: healthcare, community investment and active life, effective civic participation, infrastructure and transportation, financial stability, safety and security, quality of future life.
Furthermore, Mariam Al Tamimi, Chairman of the Community Responsibility Council at Abu Dhabi Islamic Bank, said: "We, at Abu Dhabi Islamic Bank, are pleased to collaborate with the Ministry of Community Development in launching the initiative “You are Eid Joy” on the occasion of Eid Al Adha as part of consolidating the culture of social responsibility as a core value in the emirati society and the transition from social care to social development based on the objectives of the national agenda of the UAE vision”.
