Following the directives of the UAE leadership and the message of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, UAE Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, that “everyone is responsible”, and the message of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, “We are all united in the face of challenge”, the Ministry of Community Development and Corporate Social Responsibility UAE Platform announced the launch of the joint campaign “Caring for Everyone” and reveal its first social initiative, -Al Mair, which includes the provision of basic foodstuffs to families and individuals, of which 5,000 families and 7,000 laborers, after studying their social cases and based on the database of those families and individuals most in need.
The “Caring for Everyone” Campaign aims to affirm the values of cohesion, solidarity, coherence and social cooperation in the UAE community, including nationals, residents, government authorities and private sector, businesses in light of curbing Coronavirus epidemic-COVID19. The campaign includes a package of community initiatives to be announced in the coming period. The campaign works to employ the efforts of individuals, private sector and businesses to enhance their community responsibility, support the UAE efforts to help those affected by the novel coronavirus physically and morally, and to withstand this health and economic challenge.
The initiatives, which will be announced at later periods, will allow the private sector to focus its contributions thoroughly on those who were affected most by the novel Coronavirus-COVID19, enable them to meet their needs and enhance their ability to comply with the UAE directives to stay home.
His Excellency Engineer Sultan Bin Saeed Al Mansoori, Minister of Economy and Chairman, Board of Trustees of Corporate Social Responsibility UAE Platform, said: “The concerted efforts of both individuals or authorities within the community, are now a necessity to overcome this crisis, the responsibility is undoubtedly a joint effort, and we believe that we together can face this challenge."
His Excellency emphasized that the role of corporate social responsibility needs to be strengthened today more than ever, given the significant challenges facing the UAE and the world as a result of the spread of novel Coronavirus-COVID19. The Corporate Social Responsibility UAE Platform has an infrastructure and information that can transform the concept of community responsibility and move it from simply contributing to charitable activities to launching development initiatives at the national level.
Furthermore, Her Excellency Hessa Bint Essa Buhumaid, Minister of Community Development, said: “Community responsibility doubles at times of crisis while family cohesion and community coherence are best reflected; these sustainable development goals of the Ministry of Community Development strive to adopt more joint community initiatives, based on the confidence that the UAE community reflects the highest positive citizenship and national responsibility because our house is united i.e. “Al Bait Metwahid”.
Her Excellency added that this initiative affirms the awareness of the UAE community whether individuals or authorities, and institutions of the importance of cooperation and responsibility towards their society; it also adopts economic development initiatives that allow the joint efforts of all the community members, UAE nationals, residents, government authorities and private sector, to strengthen the moral aspects and emphasize the values of cohesion, solidarity and community cooperation in the challenge of facing the spread of novel coronavirus-COVID19.
It is worth mentioning to know that “Caring for Everyone” Campaign is one of the social initiatives under the Corporate Social Responsibility UAE Platform and implemented in cooperation with several partners in the government, local and federal authorities as well as the private sector.
