The Ministry of Community Development celebrated with its staff the International Day of Happiness coinciding 20th March each year at the Customers Happiness Center in Um Al Qiwain. The event was attended by Her Excellency Hessa Bint Essa Buhumaid and staff of various departments, senior emiratis and people of determination. The Welfare & Rehabilitation Centers for People of Determination, the Community Development Centers and nurseries of the Ministry organized a number of activities for people of determination students, parents, senior emiratis and community members.
At the International Day of Happiness, Her Excellency the Minister of Community Development encouraged the employees to have positivity and giving spirit. The event included entertainment activities including wheel of happiness, poetry recital by Sultan Bin Ghafaan, Emirati Poet and happiness corner to create a positive atmosphere among the staff: happiness studio, calligraphy corner, happiness stall, my happiness corner, fawala al doha, Dibba Military Band and other happiness activities.
On this occasion, Her Excellency Hessa Bint Essa Buhumaid emphasized that work has no value without happiness and giving always makes the best noting that the Ministry of Community Development always seeks to make happiness a sustainable reality to support the completion of job tasks, motivation and productivity. The Ministry creates happiness and joy and at the same time seeks for achieving positivity among the staff.
“Our happiness is to fulfill the happiness of the community members, we call all the staff members to be always keen in providing happiness, love and loyalty to the country and UAE nationals to meet the aspirations and directives of the UAE wise leadership. We at the Ministry of Community Development strong believe that our giving country is the basis of happiness. We interact with the members of the community with respect and harmony and do greater efforts for all the senior emiratis, mothers, fathers, children and younger generation who are about to get married.
During the ceremony at the Happiness Village, Her Excellency Hessa Bint Essa Buhumaid, announced the “Happiness Initiative Fund” by the happiness and quality life team at the Ministry which aims to stimulate performance and enhance the satisfaction of the employees through financial rewards to be distributed by the concerned departments to the employees coinciding with the government’s vision and distinguished performance. The fund includes 3 choices of happiness (one-day happiness leave, two hours’ happiness, two hourly happiness leave), shopping and purchase vouchers, car fuel vouchers and hotel accommodation.
As such, the Welfare & Rehabilitation Centers for People of Determination and Community Centers of the Ministry organized various events to celebrate the International Day of Happiness, these included spa session for senior emiratis at Senior Emiratis Happiness Center in Ajman; happiness carnival for students of determination and their parents at Dubai Welfare & Rehabilitation Center for People of Determination participated by the Fayez Al Saeed, famous actor and representatives from Sheikh Zayed Housing Program and Qusais Police Station. The center also organized other activities targeting staff and launching Happiness and Tolerance Initiative for staff giving them one hour leave in addition to a visit to children patients at Latifa Hospital to create an atmosphere of happiness among them.
The Welfare and Rehabilitation Centers at Ajman, Um Al Qiwain, Fujairah, Dibba Al Fujairah and Ras Al Khaimah organized several activities for the staff, students of determination, parents, senior emiratis and outsourcing staff. These included entertainment games, happiness awards, gift distribution, happiness trips, one-hour leave and meals. All this festive atmosphere aimed for creating happiness and positive energy to achieve more productivity and harmony among the staff.
Secrets of Happiness
On the occasion of the International Day of Happiness, the Ministry of Community Development organized a lecture called (Secrets of Happiness) presented by Dr. Khalid Al Moneef , certified trainer in self-development and personal development hosted by the Cultural Center at Um Al Qiwain and the Ministry’s premises in Abu Dhabi and Dubai in order to achieve maximum benefits for the staff in both premises. The lecture spoke about the motivations of positive energy and giving, happiness at the ministry’s community through employment satisfaction and harmony. At the end of the lecture, the audience and participants received the book “your morning smile”.
