Ministry of Community Development Launches Summer Activities Plan in all Social Development Centers

Dubai, Ministry of Community Development-July 2019:-

The Ministry of Community Development announced the beginning its summer activities in (10) of its social development centers all over the emirates at the beginning of July till mid-August. The activities included several innovative social and development activities to the all the members of the community; families, senior emiratis, school students and other categories.

On this occasion, Hessa Tahlak, Assistant Undersecretary of Social Development at the Ministry stated that the summer program in all social development centers highlights 5 themes over 5 weeks as follows: “innovation in community responsibility”, “towards solid family relations”, “science, knowledge and artificial intelligence”, “happiness”, “correct financial planning”. 

Hessa Tahlak added that the activities of the social development centers this summer reveal the ministry’s initiatives and projects based on the pillars of community involvement and sustainable development to organize activities that coincide with the needs of the community members and at the same time enhance cooperation and participation between public and private sectors. The summer of social development centers is definitely full of ideas, activities, social and development initiatives that are suitable for everyone.

She also noted that the diversity of activities, workshops and programs held at all the community centers coincide with the visions of the Ministry of Community Development “Cohesive Family…Main Partner in Community Development” and the sustainable development goals of all the initiatives, projects and programs adopted by the Ministry to achieve positive realistic results. The different activities of the summer program at the community development center come in line with the comprehensive development vision of all community members and reveal the ministry’s keenness towards all the society.

As part of the summer program in the social development centers, the initiatives, workshops and programs enhance the strategy of family cohesion and support the stability of all family members. These programs include: “we are always with you” to enhance the role of fathers in the stability of families and raising children in addition to an open day program for mothers, students, trainers, volunteers and employees in community development center at Ajman. In Fujairah community development center, visits to grandparents will be organized as part of the initiative “we are your family”, another entertainment activity targeting mother and daughter to spend an entertaining time at one of the health spas in order to enhance the relationship between both of them as well as the workshop called “weqaya” for Senior Emiratis and their families in Dibba Fujairah Center.

A group of visits and scientific and entertaining trips in Dubai to Emirates Science Club, Modhesh City, traditional medicines souq to get acquainted to all the different types of traditional medicines. The social development centers in Fujairah will organize a visit to Mohamed Bin Rashid Space Center, as well as other visits by the social development centers in Khorfakkan to the science club in Fujairah, dairy farm in Dhadna. Julphar center will organize an entertainment trip to Sharjah aquarium and discovery center.

All the activities of the summer program in the social development centers include a number of workshops, rehabilitation and training workshops in all the centers to highlight: “saving culture”, “little innovator”, “knowledge café”, “little programmer”, “robot workshop” and a workshop about traditional medicines, and several initiatives such as “reading”, “healthy food”, and “financially plan well”. Other activities included “draw happiness”, “correct spending”, “handicrafts and sewing”, “little farmer”, “environment etiquette”, “your happiness at a glance”, “save for your future” and other initiative and social events.
