The CEO of Dubai Future Foundation (DFF) Khalfan Belhoul said that the vision of Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum is helping future generations prepare themselves for the challenges of the future and enhance their ability to thrive in the next phase of growth. Preparing the youth to take advantage of the opportunities of the future is one of the key strategic objectives of DFF, he said.
He further said that Crown Prince of Dubai, Chairman of The Executive Council of Dubai and Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Dubai Future Foundation His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, has set clear objectives for DFF to effectively contribute to Dubai’s future agenda and play a key role in the development of future sectors in partnership with private and public firms.
Khalfan Belhoul was speaking at a 'Meet the CEO' event organised by the Government of Dubai Media Office (GDMO) today. 'Meet the CEO' is a regular series of press events organised by GDMO for leaders of prominent Dubai organisations. Both local and international media attended the event.
Belhoul said that DFF has launched a number of projects and initiatives to support the effort to build the future. The foundation focuses on new technologies that are able to increase the efficiency and productivity of various economic sectors. The Dubai Future Accelerators, an initiative of DFF, provides innovative public and private sector organisations and start-ups opportunities to use the city of Dubai as a living testbed for co-creating solutions for the challenges of tomorrow. He said that the unlimited support of the leadership, which enables Dubai to implement new ideas rapidly and support talented individuals, gives it an advantage over other cities.
Speaking about the objectives behind the launch of Area 2071, Belhoul said that the Area serves as a gateway and a platform to design the future, through encouraging creativity, fostering talents as well as attracting local and global partnerships. Area 2071 embodies and aims to fulfill the objectives of the UAE Centennial 2071 plan which was launched by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai in March 2017. The launch of the UAE Centennial 2071 Plan was inspired by a talk delivered by Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan.
Belhoul further added, that the motivation behind the establishment of Area 2071 was to support the efforts of all UAE entities that are working towards shaping a better future for the county.
The first initiative of its kind in the world, Area 2071 serves as an incubator for the future where global companies, service providers and research laboratories can integrate their efforts to develop innovative solutions and new technologies for meeting future needs. Think tanks and research labs at Area 2071 will develop solutions for challenges in various sectors and develop new models for tackling both regional and global problems.
Belhoul further said that the futuristic projects launched by DFF have already started bringing results. In this context, he talked about the ‘Dubai 10X’ initiative launched by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum. Under the leadership of HH Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed and Deputy Ruler of Dubai HH Sheikh Maktoum bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the Dubai 10X initiative, overseen by the Dubai Future Foundation, aims to enable Dubai government entities to anticipate global changes in all sectors and transform Dubai into a city of the future. It aims to do so by implementing today what major cities of the world will implement ten years from now.
