Mohammed bin Rashid reviews achievements of the Translation Challenge

Dubai, April 2nd 2018:   Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum reviewed the milestone achievements of the Translation Challenge, a subsidiary of the Mohammed bin Rashid Arab e-Learning Project. Crown Prince of Dubai, Chairman of Dubai Executive Council and Deputy Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Global Initiatives His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum accompanied Sheikh Mohammed during his visit.

The initiative has completed translation of 1,500 educational videos out of the targeted 5,000 videos, with 3 million words out of the targeted 11 million words. Over 300 volunteers are taking part in the Translation Challenge.

His Highness Sheikh Mohammed witnessed the launching of the second phase of the initiative, which includes the compliance of the translated content with the education curriculum. Moreover, the phase includes launching the survey efforts to rum quality control process prior to launching the project next September.

His Highness also visited the “translation lab” and was briefed on the work processes and plans. During their visit to the lab, Sheikh Mohammed and Sheikh Hamdan participated in producing one of the videos.

“I am happy to see such enthusiastic volunteers. We have a team composed of thousands of volunteers ready to start a new phase of development in the field of education in the Arab world. Our students need better curriculums and the Mohammed bin Rashid Arab e-Learning Project will be the biggest platform for developing educational content”, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed said.

Deputy Ruler of Dubai His Highness Sheikh Maktoum bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Minister of Cabinet Affairs and the Future HE Mohammed Al Gergawi and a number of ministers and senior officials accompanied Sheikh Mohammed during his visit.
