Hamdan bin Mohammed issues Resolution on Board of Directors of Hamdan Sports Complex

Crown Prince of Dubai and Chairman of the Dubai Executive Council His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum has issued a Resolution reshuffling the Board of Directors of the Hamdan Sports Complex. Pursuant to the decree, Ahmed Mohammed Al Shafar has been appointed the Chairman of the Board and Nasser Aman Al Rahma the Vice Chairman. Members of the new Board include Ali Mohammed Al Mutawa, Mohamed Sulaiman Al Mulla and Maher Abdulkarim Julfar. The Board serves for a renewable term of four years.

The Resolution specifies the competencies and authorities of the Board within the framework of the policies and procedures of Dubai Sports Council (DSC). As per the Resolution, all assets of the Hamdan Sports Complex will be handed over to the new Board. The new Board will also manage the inventory of all movable and immovable property and submit a comprehensive report to the DSC about the handover of assets and property.

The Resolution authorises the new Board to develop all required policies, procedures and strategic plans and submit them to the DSC for approval. The Board may approve and supervise operational plans, work procedures and the organisational structure of the Hamdan Sports Complex and propose draft legislation and annual draft budgets. The Board is also authorised to propose the fees for services provided by the Complex, establish cooperation with relevant local, regional and international organisations, and forge partnerships with public and private sector organisations to enhance the Complex’s operational performance and attract regional and international sports events. The Board may also form both permanent and temporary sub-committees and teams to help the Board carry out its responsibilities.
